Japanese language is my lifelong passion- I developed an interest in the language when I was six years old. I have studied the Japanese language since high school, which has culminated in a degree in Asian Languages and Cultures at the University of Washington. I have taken classes specifically geared towards translation both in the United States and in Japan, and I am preparing to take the JLPT N2 exam. My lived experience with Japanese, from studying abroad in Japan to working with Japanese students studying abroad in America, has given me a deep and personal relationship with the language. On a professional front, I have done prior work in audio transcription where I was required to accurately transcribe meetings as well as ensure the quality of my transcriptions. I was required to work at a demanding pace to meet my supervisor’s deadlines. With my work as a Teacher's Assistant in Japan, I was responsible for grading and proofreading hundreds of student papers while maintaining my professors standards and ensuring I provided proper feedback to students. I am someone who prides herself on accuracy and faithfulness to source material, and I see my work as an opportunity for professional and personal growth. My experience reflects that I am someone who is passionate about the Japanese language, is able to handle a large workload, and has a burning desire to utilize her language skills.
