German to English Translation and Localization for Video Game Company

We were contacted recently by a German software and video game engineering company who asked us to provide them with some localization services for recent releases of some of their video games and software.  German to English translation services included localized video game translation of the game script, software documentation translation, user interface localization, and other related tasks. The total word count for this project was about 2500, and we completed the project in less than 48 hours.

Video game localization and game script translation is part of our translation service that we've recently been tasked with pretty frequently, due to increased clientele demands and the ever-growing video game industry.  Software translation for documentation and user interface localization is often requested when English is the source language, so this particular project was a bit different, for the simple fact that German was the source language.  German to English translation, however, requires less localization changes than say, English to Korean translation, or other language pairs and cultures with more pronounced differences.  However, anytime software, video games, or any type of IT translation is involved, there is almost always a need for localized translation services, which goes much beyond language translation alone.
