Financial Agreement Translation from Greek to English

Financial agreements are often blurred with business agreements, and it can require someone with a specialized background in accounting, banking, business financing, etc - to translate documents that combine linguistic and conceptual elements of both fiscal and business matters.  For example, most business contract translations require this kind of marriage of translation and professional skills.  However, even financial agreements themselves usually involve some kind of business transaction, sale of services or products, or other situation involving a two-party agreement that is beneficial to both.  This is why professional translation of such documents is so important.  Wording is key in something like a professional Greek translation of a financial document - which is exactly the kind of financial translation we recently provided to a client.

This particular business translation of a financial agreement was actually pretty interesting.  Thousands of typical business contracts have passed through here, ranging from construction to real estate to financial services, and certainly plenty of legal document translations.  This one however, was a financial agreement translation between an art sculptor and his or her art dealer.  The Greek to English translation made it even more interesting, because the Borrower was in the U.S., and the Lender was Greek,as was the art dealer that agreed to exhibit the sculptures.  It creates interest if no other reason than simply imagining what a romantic life it must be to sculpt for a living and have them promoted, exhibited and sold overseas in Greece.  Not many artistic sculptors reach that kind of success.  It just goes to show that we really do see a little bit of everything, or at least every industry, as a professional translation service.

Financial and Business Contract Translations

The actual financial document translation itself was not long; about 550 words, which is very concise for a business contract or financial agreement.  The subject matter, however, was quite unique for the types of document translations that typically come through here. 

The document was assigned to a Greek translator with a financial and business translation background - which actually is not at all as difficult to locate (for us) as it may sound.  Because we have a pool of thousands of highly qualified translators, we are able to pinpoint the most qualified translators for any given job, every single time.  At that point, the translators then submit their best rates, and we choose the best man or woman for the job - in some cases, multiple men and women.  Following the initial business translation, it then undergoes proofreading by an additional translator with similar translation experience and skill.
